Do I really need a wedding videographer?
We may be biased — but yes. A film brings your day to life in ways that photos simply can’t. It captures sound, motion, and all the subtle, fleeting expressions that define the experience. Years from now, hearing the vows you wrote, the laughter of your guests, and the voices of loved ones will mean more than you can imagine.
We understand that weddings are an investment, and videography can feel like an optional extra. But when the day is over, your film becomes the most vivid way to return to it — not just to remember what it looked like, but how it felt. Even if you decide we’re not the right fit, we always recommend documenting your day through film.
Why are videography prices so different from one company to another?
Wedding videography falls into two general categories: artisanal studios and volume-based companies.
Artisanal studios, like Sagebrush Films, take on a limited number of weddings each season so we can dedicate the time, care, and artistry each story deserves. Every film is crafted by the same team who captured it — ensuring consistency, attention to detail, and a deeply personal result.
Larger, volume-based companies often operate nationwide, hiring freelancers with varying levels of experience and outsourcing editing. The results can be unpredictable. If an offer seems unusually low, there’s usually a reason. Your film is one of the few tangible pieces that remain long after the day — it’s worth choosing a team who treats it that way.
What does my wedding day look like with Sagebrush Films?
Our approach is quiet and intentional. We focus on capturing what’s real — the unscripted moments that reflect who you are and how the day unfolds.
You’ll see us alongside your photographer during key moments, but we tend to blend into the background. We may gently offer direction when it enhances the story, but we’ll never interrupt what’s unfolding naturally. Our goal is to create a relaxed environment that allows authentic emotion to surface — so your film feels true to the day, not staged for the camera.
Professionalism is a cornerstone of our work. We arrive prepared, communicate clearly, and collaborate seamlessly with your vendor team so you can stay fully present.
What if I want those cinematic, dramatic shots?
We love a cinematic moment. If you’re envisioning sweeping drone footage, golden-hour portraits, or slow-motion scenes that feel straight out of a film, we’re happy to incorporate them. We’ll talk through your vision in advance to find the right balance between cinematic storytelling and natural documentation.
We never force direction or prioritize style over authenticity — instead, we work with the light, landscape, and rhythm of the day to create something timeless and beautiful.
How does Sagebrush Films work with photographers?
Collaboration is key. We connect with your photographer before the wedding to align on timing, lighting, and creative flow. On the day, we coordinate naturally — respecting their process while maintaining our own artistic perspective.
While your photographer focuses on posed and portrait moments, we’re often drawn to movement, reaction, and atmosphere. Both perspectives complement each other beautifully, and when approached with professionalism and respect, the result is cohesive storytelling across photo and film.
Do I need two videographers?
It depends on the scope of your day and how you want it captured. Two filmmakers allow for greater coverage — both partners getting ready, multiple perspectives during the ceremony, and simultaneous coverage of cocktail hour and portraits.
With two cameras, we can preserve more of the emotion and energy of the day without compromise. The result is a more dynamic, complete film — one that captures not just what happened, but everything that surrounded it.
Can’t you just set up a second camera on a tripod?
We can, but it’s not the same. A stationary camera can’t adjust for movement, light, or emotion. It can’t anticipate a reaction or respond to what’s unfolding. While we may use static cameras strategically, the most meaningful moments require a filmmaker’s eye — someone who’s actively observing and adapting.
If you want a film that feels intentional and seamless, having two filmmakers offers the best possible coverage.
How do you choose the music? Can I be involved?
Music sets the tone of your film. We take great care in pairing the right sound with your story — something that complements both your personal taste and the atmosphere of the day.
We encourage couples to share playlists or artists they love, and we source licensed tracks that evoke a similar feeling. Because of copyright laws, we can’t use most commercial songs, but we have access to a wide selection of music that’s cinematic, emotive, and beautifully suited to storytelling.
The result is a soundtrack that feels like you — timeless and deeply personal.
What’s the turnaround time?
Each film is handcrafted with care. Delivery typically takes 2-3 months, depending on the season and scope of your package. Super 8 film and Handy Cam footage (if added) will typically be returned in two weeks or less. We’ll share a more specific timeline once your wedding date and edit schedule are confirmed.
